Vanny's Team

Vanny's current pokemon team! A better trainer than I, she's spent a while playing Diamond. Here she is with Umpire the grotle, Flampen the Beautifly, Robert the Psyduck and Kazza the Kadabra.

Flampen is rather obsessive, last year she memorised the Sinnoh street directory (which has proven very useful).  Umpire is a thoughtful, solid "'sup bro," kind of guy, not big on talking his contribution is usually a sage nod his head and a "mmm-hmmm" or "nuh-uh" in a rich barritone. For all his surliness (he's rather overlevelled, so often disobedient), Kazza is very protective of Robert. Vanny's caring nature means she does all she can to soothe Robert's headache even if doing so makes him weaker in battle, with Kazza stepping in to weild psychic type moves. Thanks to their support, Robert is a cogent conversationalist with often stunning political insight on just three panadol per day.

Vanny and I have some long commutes coming up, so she'll likely have a fifth member in her team in the next month or so.

... No, no I do not overthink such things at all.

This took an age, mostly at the sketch stage. Leavanny are quite short compared to these other pokemon, so it was tricky that Vanny not get lost in her team. It was great fun working out how to integrate the trainer staples of that half-circle motif and bag onto Leavanny, without making her look too human.
