Neville the Naughty Nautilus

I made Neville a while ago, and keep forgetting to upload him. So here he is.

We (the student-run Australian National University Biology Society) decided to hold a contest to choose what animal our mascot should be. Society members voted, and the winner was a nautilus...

So, after a couple of evenings and working on the tentacles during bus rides, within a week, I'd finished our one-of-a-kind party nautilus. He was finished in time for the Biology Society ball, where he lived up to his name and partied hard with lots of people, sharing drinks and shaking his... uh... booty?... on the dance floor.

he's made from super-soft grey material, orange offcuts from an old sewing project. Quite a few of his tentacles have pipe cleaner insides, so they can be posed.

As usual, I didn't use a pattern, and he's all hand-sewn.

The mug is there for scale, it is a large mug.
